The
Maui airport is located in Kahului (OGG
is the airport designation). Rental cars are available
at the airport and it is best to arrange for one prior to arrival.
After leaving the airport, follow road signs to Kihei,
a 20 minute drive through the sugarcane fields located in the
central valley between the West Maui Mountains and the
great dormant volcano of Haleakala. When you get to the
light that directs you into the town of Kihei, you can
go straight for a scenic route or turn left onto the highway
that takes you to Wailea. If you would like to take the
slower way along the beach road, you will pass the old and new
town of Kihei with all of its wonderful shops, restaurants and
taverns.

Beaches
There are numerous sandy beaches with crystal clear water and great snorkeling just minutes away from Aloha Nights. You can stroll down to Kamaole Beach I, II or III,just below the house, or drive a few minutes to Keawakapu, Polo Beach or Big Beach in Makena. Nestled along the shore are treasure beaches awaiting, if you can find them. Large resort beaches are open to everyone so it's fun to explore the shoreline.

The Area
The island of Maui is enchanting and the area we are in is perfect for a holiday of any length (my personal preference is 3 weeks). It may take awhile to find all the hidden sandy beaches along the waterfront. World class snorkeling with turtles and Jeffrey the manta ray is a must. The luau at the Outrigger Resort is five minutes away.
